New Years' Eve Road Closures and Office Hours

The Hunters Hill peninsula will be closed at Church Street overpass from 1.00pm on New Years’ Eve Monday 31 December, as in other years, until 1.00am on January 1, 2019.

A limited number of entry passes are available for friends and family of residents and commercial business on the peninsula. Residents will need to show proof of residency, for example a driver’s licence or rates notice to obtain a pass, with a maximum number of two passes per household and two additional, if off-street parking is possible on the property.

Passes are only available from the Council Customer Service Centre until midday Monday December 24 and pass holders are advised to fix their entry pass on the inside of their windscreen to allow for identification.

The purpose of the road closure is to regulate the volume of traffic entering Hunters Hill east of the overpass and to prevent congestion and parking problems. This will ensure public safety and enable emergency access. Police will be enforcing the road closure to permit only entry by local residents and vehicles displaying an authorised entry pass. A Park and Ride service with buses running every 15 minutes and requiring your Opal card, will be available from Boronia Park.

The Administration Centre will be closed from 12.00pm Monday 24 December 2018 to Tuesday 1 January 2019 inclusive. Normal business hours apply on Wednesday 2 January 2019.

A Council Duty Officer is available for emergencies only and can be contacted on 0408 461 996.

Garbage Collection days will be as normal, and will begin at 4.00am. Urgent requests concerning garbage and recycling should be directed to the Council Contractor, United Resource Management (URM) on 1300 136 460.

The Council and staff wish everyone a joyous and safe holiday season.
