Citizenship Ceremony

Hunter's Hill Council administers citizenship ceremonies on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs for residents that reside within the Hunters Hill Local Government Area. These ceremonies are a significant milestone, often marking the final steps in the journey to becoming an Australian citizen.

Citizenship ceremonies are by invitation only. You must register with the Department of Home Affairs and receive an invitation to attend a citizenship ceremony. Council cannot amend, edit, change or influence the invitation or application approval process. 

Citizenship Ceremonies for 2025 will be held on:

  • Sunday 26 January 2025
  • Wednesday 18 June 2025
  • Wednesday 17 September 2025

Ceremony dates are subject to change.

What to bring

You need to bring your invitation to the ceremony and one form of photo identification:

  • Australian driver licence
  • passport or
  • an official document with a photograph.
