In celebration of the festive season, we hold the annual Carols in the Park event.

Carols in the Park is a free event where our community come together and enjoy singing carols, browsing food, market and gift stalls, live entertainment, and a visit from Santa and his elves. The night is capped off with a fireworks display - the finale to this ever-popular community event.

Our Carols is always a great way to kick off the Christmas holidays and relax with family and friends.

Where is Carols in the Park being held?

At Boronia Park Ovals (Oval 1), Cnr Ryde Rd and Park Rd, Hunters Hill.

What time will Carols in the Park start?

Arrive from 5pm.

Performances begin around 5pm.

Mayor’s welcome at 5.30pm. 

Do I need a ticket to attend?

No. You will not need to reserve a ticket.

Are the fireworks happening this year?

Yes, the fireworks display should occur between 8.25pm and 8.50pm depending on weather and light levels. The fireworks are expected to take up to 7 minutes. The event will conclude at the end of the fireworks or when announced over the PA.

Fireworks will only be launched if deemed safe to do so.

Oval 2 will be closed to the public during fireworks set-up, launch and pack down.

Activities at Carols in the Park

As well as a visit from Santa and his stiltwalking elves, kids can also enjoy the free glitter bar so they can join in with all the sparkle and glimmer!

There will also be free giveaways at the Hunter's Hill Council tent.

The night will be capped off with a fireworks display commencing at approximately 8:30pm.

Carols in the Park is always a fun family-friendly evening.

Who is performing?

Performances will take place from the bleachers of the Boronia Park Sports and Community Facility:

5.05pm Hunters Hill High School Junior Rock Band - Missing Assignment

5.35pm Hunters Hill High School Sophomore Rock Band - The Understudies

6.10pm Mars and Alex

6.45pm Jordyn and Ethan

7.45pm TriTone Redemption

Santa’s Helpers will also be visiting throughout the event.

Where can I park?

  • There is no parking available at Boronia Park Ovals.
  • We encourage locals to walk to the Oval.
  • Please obey all parking signs and restrictions.
  • Attendees should avoid dropping passengers off on Park Rd or Ryde Rd.

Can I catch a bus?

Yes, the usual Sunday bus timetable will apply. Please make sure you give yourself enough time to arrive and depart the Ovals safely. There are no extra buses or shuttle buses. Take care when exiting or alighting as there may be extra traffic around. 

What should I bring?

  • Some food stalls will be available, so bring cash or a card
  • A rug or low chairs to sit on
  • Re-useable cups and plates if you bring your own food
  • Sunscreen and hats
  • A rubbish bag to take your rubbish away with you
  • BYO Alcohol (no alcoholic beverages are available to purchase on site)

Will there be any stalls or food trucks?

There will be small number of stalls and food trucks this year.

Food Stalls:

  • Authentic Turkish Gozleme + Chips on a Stick
  • Mays Malaysian Hawker
  • Radici Napoletane - Traditional Italian pizza
  • Smash My Buns - Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips
  • Mr Squeeze - Fresh lemonade
  • Unique Ice Cream

The market stalls will include:

  • Fidgets4Kids
  • Pop's Cornshack
  • Emily's Little Christmas Shop
  • BFT Gladesville
  • Gingerbread For Good

Will there be rides?

No, there are no rides this year.

Can I bring my pet?

  • Yes, but you will need to keep them on a lead due to many people being on the Oval and sitting on the ground.
  • Please pick up and dispose of any waste.
  • Be aware that fireworks will be happening after 8.30pm.

What happens if it rains?

  • The event will be cancelled if there is heavy rain on the day or the Oval is waterlogged and unsafe from heavy rain the previous day.
  • Please check social media and the Hunter’s Hill Council website for confirmation.
  • The fireworks will continue if safe to do so.

Health and safety

  • Please maintain good hygiene and obey health regulations when at the event.
  • Do not attend if you or anyone in your household is feeling unwell.
  • Take all rubbish home with you.
  • Security guards will be patrolling the Oval.
