Library

The Hunters Hill community library is known as The Yarn. We have partnered with Lane Cove Library to deliver library services to our community via our shopfront service operating out of 64 Gladesville Road, Hunters Hill (in the arcade next to Hunters Hill Hotel).

The Yarn members have physical access to the Shorelink libraries, which includes all libraries in Lane Cove, Mosman and North Sydney.

Shorelink Libraries link the Lower North Shore Council Libraries of Lane Cove , Mosman  and North Sydney. A Shorelink Library card entitles members to borrow from all Shorelink Libraries. The online catalogue offers a choice of local or network wide information. The libraries also provide access to a range of online databases and eResources.

The Yarn is open to the public between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

There is a limited range of books that are held on location at the Yarn at any one time. However, you will be able to browse the online catalogue of Lane Cove Library, through which you can arrange a click and collect, where the books will be delivered to the Yarn for you.

Returning Books

We make it as easy as possible for you to return your books!

You have two options for returning books. If the library is open, you can return the books directly to the Yarn staff, or you can drop the book into the returns box (located on the kitchen countertop). If the library is closed, or you are in a rush, you can drop them into the Yarn returns shute, which is located out on the street, near the entrance to the arcade and adjacent to the bus stop.
