Social Housing

On 1 April 2019, the State Government Department of Communities and Justice transferred management of 1,400 social housing properties to St George Community Housing in the local government areas of Hunters Hill, Lane Cove, Willoughby, and North Sydney on an initial 20-year lease. Three hundred and thirty-three of these are in the Hunters Hill, of which 268, are concentrated in three streets with the remaining properties spread throughout the area.

SGCH has been developing and implementing Place Plans in conjunction with local community and statutory organisations to work with residents in an identified area to create opportunities in their social sphere, governance and environment.

SGCH also work to join and create local services groups to increase the collective impact by connecting and working with statutory and community groups that also operate in the area.
