Hunter’s Hill Council and the Hunters Hill RSL Sub-branch hosted our annual ANZAC March and Memorial Service to honour our veterans and service personnel.

The community came together to attend this important event commemorating those who have served, those currently serving, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Service of Remembrance began with a wreath-laying ceremony at 6.30pm at the RSL Memorial Wall, located at 56 Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill. A march followed at 6.45pm.

Led by the Sydney Thistle Highland Pipe Band, the march proceeded along Alexandra Street, culminating at Hunters Hill Town Hall, 22 Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill, where the main service began at 7pm.

Major David Raey was the guest speaker for this year's ceremony. Steven Mitchell, President of the Hunters Hill RSL Sub-Branch, also participated in the proceedings.

Mayor Zac Miles said the community has again come together for our 102nd combined Anzac March and Memorial to honour the bravery and sacrifice of our veterans.

“It’s important that we acknowledge their contributions and reflect on the role they have played in shaping our nation," Cr Miles said.

The Anzac March and Memorial Service is a reminder of the importance of remembrance and reflection.

As the community continues to grow and expand, events like these ensure that the sacrifices of those who have served remain an integral part of the Municipality’s legacy.
