Hunters Hill celebrates NSW Seniors Festival

Seniors from across Hunters Hill, Ryde and Lane Cove joined together to enjoy a special morning tea event as part of the NSW Seniors Festival.

Today's event on Thursday 21 March at North Ryde School of Arts was officially opened Mayor of Hunters Hill, Zac Miles.

“Our annual Seniors Festival celebration is always one of my favourite events of the year,” Mayor Zac Miles said.

“It is a special occasion to celebrate the valuable contributions made by this special group in our local community,” he continued.

Attendees were welcomed with free morning tea including scones from the Country Women’s Association and live music from music therapist, Benjamin Herbert and band, King Olav & the Rescue Cats.

The event also hosted a variety of educational and interactive stalls, with a scam awareness talk delivered by Ryde Police Area Command.

Music and Morning Tea was jointly presented by  Hunter’s Hill CouncilCity of RydeLane Cove CouncilStryderSydney Community Services, and Presbyterian Aged Care: North Ryde Community Aid.
