New Moocooboola date: Sunday 13 October
Published on 22 July 2024
The Moocooboola Festival will be postponed until Sunday 13 October as a result of the prolonged and frequent rainfall impacting the grounds at Boronia Park Ovals. The decision was made to not hold the event on Sunday August 4, to ensure everyone's safety and to protect the grounds. The new date will give the waterlogged fields an opportunity to dry.
It will also ensure that Council can continue to deliver this cherished event which has been held for decades in the Hunters Hill community, featuring all the attractions that everyone loves. There will be rides, live performances, food stalls, market and the crowd favourite dog show.
Mayor Zac Miles reiterated how important it was to deliver Moocooboola as a highlight of Council's event calendar.
"I know everyone in the community looks forward to the Moocooboola Festival every year. Rest assured, this year's event will be delivered, albeit a little later in the year, as the same wonderful local fair that we know and love. I encourage you to mark your calendar with the new date," he said.
Updates will be made on the Moocooboola event page and posted to the Facebook event.
The dates for Hunters Hill Art Exhibition, Young in Art and Carols in the Park will also shift by a couple of weeks to avoid clashes in the event calendar. New dates are as follows:
- Moocooboola Festival: Sunday 13 October (previously Sunday 4 August)
- Hunters Hill Art Exhibition: Friday 25 October to Sunday 3 November (previously Friday 11 October to Sunday 20 October)
- Young in Art: Thursday 21 November to Sunday 24 November (previously Thursday 31 October to Sunday 3 November)
- Carols in the Park: Sunday 8 December (previously Sunday 1 December
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to making Moocooboola an exciting event in the Spring!
