Council is continuing to deliver more vital major projects in the municipality with work on a new multi-sport community facility at Gladesville Reserve planned for the next financial year.

Thanks to a $1.9 million grant from the NSW Office of Sport Level the Playing Field Program, this new state-of-the-art and accessible building will provide much needed toilets and change facilities for all users. It will also provide ample storage space for equipment. The grant was awarded to All Saints Hunters Hill Football Club and the works will be delivered as part of Council's Capital Works Program.

The project purposely builds on the $2.3 million upgrade that was recently completed at the Reserve, which included new lighting, a new drainage and irrigation system, a cricket practice net and a high-quality playing surface.

Mayor Zac Miles said the new facility would also encourage women’s sport at the Reserve, providing them with access to a safe and inclusive space.

"I'm pleased to see the incredible improvements to Gladesville Reserve making a marked impact to the community by providing high-quality local infrastructure,” he said.

“Our recent upgrades have increased the playing capacity of the Reserve by allowing the sports field to be used for more hours each week, all year round. These new works will support Gladesville Reserve in becoming a premier sporting precinct, and one that All Saints Football Club can be proud to call their home ground.”

President of All Saints Hunters Hill Football Club, Euan MacLeod said they were overjoyed to hear the announcement and grateful to the NSW Office of Sport and Hunter’s Hill Council.

“We love the new field that was opened recently. We didn’t expect that we would be able to construct this new facility so soon, so it’s absolutely fantastic, a great win for the Club and the community. It’s great that this project will particularly help us improve access to female facilities,” he said.

The new works align with Council’s vision for the future of the precinct, as outlined in the draft Henley Precinct Masterplan.
