Speed limit to be reduced on Ryde Road
Published on 18 July 2024
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is reducing the speed limit from 60km/h to 50km/h along Ryde Road, Hunters Hill, between Pittwater Road and Mark Street (adjacent to Boronia Park Ovals).
The new speed limit is expected to be implemented by TfNSW from Monday 29 July.
Work will take place over five night shifts, between Monday 29 July and Friday 2 August 2024, from 5pm to 5am, weather permitting.
Work includes:
- replacing 60km/h signs with 50km/h signs
- potholing work to support signage
- line marking
- using machinery to cut into the road.
TfNSW sets all speed limits and this is their initiative. They have informed Council that the new speed limit will improve safety for all road users and that the change would also bring the road in line with the NSW Speed Zoning Standards for residential areas and create a consistent speed limit along the entire length of Ryde Road.
