Prescribed Vegetation

Prescribed vegetation is the term used to describe trees and other vegetation that is protected under the Hunters Hill Consolidated Development Control Plan 2013(PDF, 6MB). 

Prescribed vegetation includes:

• any vegetation that has a height of 4 metres or more
• any vegetation with a stem diameter of 200mm or more (measured 1.4 metres above existing ground level)
• bushland or individual plants which are bushland remnants: 
  • on properties that adjoin Buffalo Creek Reserve or Boronia Park Reserve
  • including species that are listed as rare, vulnerable or threatened in the Commonwealth Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act or NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act
• vegetation on land defined by the Hunters Hill LEP 2012 as having biodiversity or high biodiversity significance
• trees listed as a heritage item in the Hunters Hill LEP 2012
• trees listed in the Hunters Hill Significant Tree Register.

If you wish to prune or remove any prescribed vegetation you must seek approval by applying for a tree permit.

If you wish to remove a heritage listed tree, a significant tree or if your property is in a heritage conservation area or is a heritage listed property you must lodge a development application.
