Illegal Dumping

It is illegal to leave any unwanted waste (including rubbish, furniture, electrical goods, mattresses and garden waste) on public and private land, including nature strips and kerb. This includes any items placed on the nature strip or kerb without a household clean up scheduled.

Items for booked household clean ups must only be placed outside the night before the scheduled collection date.

If you have witnessed or suspect illegal dumping please report to our Customer Service team by emailing info@huntershill.nsw.gov.au or phoning 02 9879 9400.

Where possible, please provide the following information:

  • location of the dumping (property address or street and nearest crossroad)
  • description of the dumping (what items have been dumped)
  • the date noticed the dumping
  • your name and contact information (optional)
  • any other supporting information that you have available.

Council staff will investigate the illegal dumping and removal the waste once the investigation has concluded. Anyone caught dumping can be fined up to $4,000.
