Fees and Charges

Council has the ability to raise revenue through the adoption of a fee or a charge for services or facilities. The fees and charges which Council can charge are split into two categories:

  • Statutory Fees - These fees are generally determined by State Government Legislation, and primarily relate to building, development or compliance activities. They include inspection services planning and building regulation (DA fees) and S10.7 Certificates and S603 Certificates. Council has no control over the calculation or any annual increase of these fees and charges. However, these are also subject to the level of activity determined by economic conditions. Statutory fees are subject to change as published by the relevant Government Authority.
  • Council has the capacity to determine the charge or fee for discretionary works or services such as the use of community facilities and access to community services.
